Alec Townsend
Alec is the "sexy member of the band". Trading in his saxaphone for a pair of sticks when he was only twelve years old, he began playing in the school band as a "percussionist" with nothing but a single snare drum and the occasional cow bell. His love for hitting things with long, blunt objects would eventually evolve into chasing neighborhood cats and beating them sensless, only to later evolve again into beating rythyms onto various drum heads and cymbals with an effortless grace that would make Tommy Lee cry.
Alec is one of the most devoted and talented drummers in the Salt Lake Valley. His love for playing can be matched by none. He is also credited with keeping beat for the local powerhouse known as "A Pick and Two Pennies". He's also played with "The Dramadores" and a band called "Frayed".
Pif
When Pif picked up his first bass at age thirteen, he knew that it was the instrument he was destined to rock on. And rock he does. Determined to master the bass, an endless road of running up and down scales and mastering his funk, Pif approaches the instrument in much the same way that an artist approaches the canvas; with a smooth yet deliberate sense of creativity. Pif is arguably one of the best bassists to be contributing to the Salt Lake City music scene at this time. He has managed to achieve an aggressive yet funky, Jazzy yet harcore, sound to his playing that astounds every ear in its path. Pif can also be credited for lending his talent to the local band, "Dry Frog".
Pif is from Chile (the country, not the delicious, meaty, spice-filled food).
Dane Goodman
Dane is the "Ugly member of the band". Growing up in a very musical home, Dane watched his father play drums in and out of various cover bands around southern California. At the ripe age of six years old he began to take piano lessons, but when his first guitar was bought for him at age 12, he made the decision to bag the keys and form a rock band, and that's just what he did. Dane spent the majority of his time skipping around from one band to another marketing himself solely as a lead singer. Finally fed up with the bullshit that comes with trying to get slackers to practice, he discovered that if he took over the guitar duties himself it would be one less person to worry about. It seemed to be the working formula when he helped to form Half Step.
Dane has lent his talents to many local bands previous to this including: a brief stint with "Jester", "Sexy Blue", "Stratum", and "Dry Frog".
